​Kiboga United Ranchers Ltd (KUR) is owned and managed as a family business by Mr and Mrs. Kwesigabo. The proprietor Mr. Kwesigabo is an experienced manager and entrepreneur who has served in many public enterprises as a senior executive. Apart from KUR, he has other successful small and medium scale businesses including legal practice, commercial real estate, and forestry.

Kiboga United Ranchers Limited is a locally incorporated company in Uganda to carry out primarily animal farming especially cattle and goats for production of milk, meat and meat products for local market and possibly for export. The company plans to expand into piggery and poultry farming and undertake some crop farming for production of animal feeds for the upcoming enterprises of poultry and piggery as well as food for farm workers.

The KUR was incorporated in September 2003 and has since acquired approximately 2400 acres (Approx. 4 square miles) of  fertile land in Bukomero-Ddwaniro sub counties, Kiboga District about 75km from Kampala city on Hoima road. The land is ideal for both animal and crop production.

The ranch has about 1000 cattle, of which 300 are dairy animals and the rest are for beef production. The ranch also has about 300 goats for meat production.

 

Most of these animals are of local and cross breeds but KUR is embarking on the breeding of high quality animals for the ranch and for local farmers to improve the quality of animals and output at the ranch and its neighbouring communities.
